Default IMAC good night

My early 2007 IMAC said good night last thursday, so I delivered it to my local apple support store. Now a week later they found there is something wrong with the screen, so it has to be changed. I asked how much and they said $1500 for the new screen. Wow, I paid round $2000 for the whole machine back in 2007. I'm thinking that the screen should last at least 5 years so I'm hoping this will go under the claim/complaint. Warrenty is only 1 year.

It sucks not being able to make music for a week+, but it would suck even more if I would have to pay for this.

Makes me wonder if any of my PT problems is related to a fawlty machine rather than PT itself ?

Ok, so you didn't get the joke.

I was implying that if you had for example...dropped your imac you could have it replaced by your insurance company.....wink wink

good luck with that. i had one of the ibooks that they admitted had faulty motherboards, but by the time mine fried they said their replacement program had ended and i'd be better off buying a new one instead of paying to get it repaired. more like they'd be better off!

According to norwegian law a product witch is supposed to last longer than two years has a 5 year claim/complaint. Since the imac screen is integrated into the imac as one product, I would think it is supposed to last longer than 2 years. Ergo, this should go under the 5 year claim/complaint. As I said I have been very carefull with my imac so this is not e problem caused by my use.

On the other hand, hearing so much negativ comments about how apple sneaks away from responsibillity I have to await answer from my local apple store.
