There are a few topics in the Answerbase.
The first in the list says:
Quote:

You can okay the message and proceed to use Pro Tools. Installing or upgrading to Windows Media 9 resolves the problem.
It would be helpful to know:
What Digi hardware?
Which version of PTLE?

A system summary:
XP SP1 or SP2
processor/motherboard/chipset
Hard drives and ram

You have a DAE mismatch or incompatible plug-ins. Uninstall Pro Tools and the drivers and reinstall.. then reinstall all your plug-ins with the latest compatible versions.

Hey!

I just went through the same issue. Try this: watch the text above the little scrolling bar as Pro Tools is loading - when it freezes with that error message make a note of what plug in it got stuck at and then remove that one from your plugins folder. See if you progress further after that. Of course, if you get multiple freezes as Rail says it might be worth removing everything including plugs and starting again. I also found that I had to make sure that the plugs were the same in both the Digidesign folder AND the Common Files/Digidesign folder - sometimes plugs seem to get installed in one or the other or both - hmmm!

Cheers

Doogz

I also had this error when I checked all the boxes on install, like DV Toolkit, translator, etc. When I uninstalled and reinstalled with only the stuff I needed, the error went away.

As far as plugs went, I recall seeing Vocalign.
