How do these AIR plugs stack up, anyone? (is the reverb usable?) I'm just wondering if the bundle included with a hardware purchase is different from the software only upgrade to 8.

Re: Question about the plug ins included with the 8 upgrade
Yes all of those listed come with the upgrade. You also get Melodyne and BFD lite
as well, plus a bunch of loops which I never use. The air plugs are good, though I have yet to really use them in a serious mix yet. Dunno how the reverb stands up but it's nice to have something other than just Dverb out of the box. |

Re: Question about the plug ins included with the 8 upgrade
+1 to what Skylfash said, you get all those plugs. Finally a sweeter deal from Digi, if you ask me Would still like to have been given Tel Ray for free though, I like dabbling with it.
I've successfully used some of the AIR plugs in film mixes, mainly used Talkbox and Lo-Fi for futzes, and was very happy with them; actually, I love AIR Lo-Fi... much more control than the simpler D-Fi cousin. AIR Stereo Width was okay, but I still prefer the phase correlation panning corrections in Flux Stereo Tool any day of the week (which is a freeware plug by the way). Was not impressed by the AIR Reverb; was not much better than RVerb to my ears, but not as bad as IR-L or Digusting-Verb. Altiverb is still my front-runner, followed by TLSpace (the poor-mans Altiverb, if you have DVTK2). Their lushness and naturalness goes unmatched; all over verbs sound slappy, metallic, or combed. |

Re: Question about the plug ins included with the 8 upgrade
Thanks for the confirmation and comments guys. Looks like a good upgrade. I'm sort of hedging waiting for the cs updates to iron out any bugs and a hopeful Macpro upgrade to expand my horizons.
