Default Issue with digi002 and focusrite octopre LE

Hey all! I recently bought a Focusrite Octopre LE interface with the optional ADAT I/O feature so I could have some more inputs for recording... But i cant seem to get any signal from the Focusrite into the 002, any ideas what it could be and how i could fix it?

Thanks
Sam

You need to set the optical output to OPTICAL=ADAT. In hardware setup, choose SYNC to ADAT(or you will get clicks and pops in your recordings). Attach a lightpipe "cable" from the Octopre ADAT output to the 002 ADAT input. Go to the I/O setup window and see if your list of inputs shows 9-13. If not, select NEW PATH and build the inputs yourself.

hmmm... I havent managed to get it to work yet, when I open Hardware Setup the only thing seemingly available to change is the Digital Input section, and out of the two options available for that I have "RCA = S/PDIF, Optical = ADAT" selected, as opposed to "Optical = S/PDIF, RCA = OFF"... When i go to the I/O setup its got the whole 18 channels available in a 002 displayed, 8 of which are labeled 'optical'... I'm still not getting any signal from the OctoPre to the computer. I've got the lightpipe cables connected and all, is there anything else that could be causing the trouble?

Thanks
Sam

Sounds like something's up with the Octopre. Under the "digital" part, are your settings correct? What lights are lit?

And what are you connecting to the Octopre? Mic? Guitar?

I had the same issue/trouble getting my Octane pre to work into my new 003. What I found I needed to do was set the pre itelf to send a sync signal, and have the PT box sync to that to avoid hiccups.
