My new system isn't working with my 001

I have a new setup and everything seems to work fine until I put my Digi001 PCI card in the slot and install the drivers. I've tried to install them in safemode, which works, but then windows xp refuses to start until I take out the PCI card. I've tried both PCI slots, and basically everything else. I've reformatted multiple times (which takes forever), because the system refuses to start after it freezes. I've also tried manually installing the drivers (dalwdm.sys), but it keeps freezing.

Is RAID disabled?

I'm no expert, I'm just holdin you over until one of these pros come in here and help you. I feel for you because I'm having trouble with my digi 001 working also.

yea raid is disabled.

its disabled in bios, plus i never instaleld raid drivers, cuz i thought they were unneeded.

would it make a difference?


btw... im the one building the computer for punkd4life, i was just to lazy to come post here myself :P

There are no official current compatibility listings for the Digi001, jonah.
These folks are attempting to use the 001/PTLE 6.4 with components that didn't exist when Digi stopped supporting/testing that unit and software.

Oops, you're right. What would you suggest they do?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but are you sure you're using one of the 2 standard PCI slots and not the PCI express slots?

First, before he does anything else:

Upgrade/update to 6.4 and cs6 and cs9 and the latest PACE drivers AND turn off one core to run 6x since ONLY 7x will take advantage of or run PT LE on multiple cores.

Once he's done the above and if he's still having problems, then he should come back and try some of the other suggestions.

Weed... he says "xp refuses to start until I take out the PCI card". At this point, software version seems a moot point.
It appears, at least on the surface, he either has the card in a PCI express slot, or he has a faulty card.

My bad. I saw 001 and AMD X2 and didn't look any further. That combination is trouble all by itself.

I believe his board has 2 PCI slots. If he's not using one of those, then, yes he's never going to get it to work. That said, once he finds a PCI slot, he should then follow my advice.
