Default Pro Tools 12.2023... Midi Sustain doesn't always turn off when stopping Transport

Doesn't happen all the time but enough to make it a nuisance.

Sometimes I'll stop a song and the piano sustain (cc64) is still activated making the last notes played continue to sound. Also happens occasionally with softsynths.

Any thoughts on this?

Is sounds to me like like "stuck" MIDI notes (when the note off message is never received) causing infinite sustain, until user intervention. In that case, you can hit: Command Shift Period send the "All MIDI notes off" message. Sometimes you have to Command Control click the problematic plugin twice to make it inactive and active again. The only reason that I'd believe the sustain pedal is getting stuck is if you open that lane of data and see the issue presented in the automation data. Otherwise I'd assume stuck MIDI notes.

This happens to me when I have midi merge engaged on an initial recording pass. Behavior is better with it off.

Intersting. I have never tried this. I need to try turning Merge off.

But, I otherwise agree. Too many stuck/hanging notes (especially with some Kontakt instruments) and the "All Notes Off" command only works if a track is in record (which only works for one at a time).
