No Meter Light on DAW controller- only happens with Pro Tools 12

Hi Everyone,

Hoping to get some idea what might be happening with the Meter lights on my ICON QCON pro 8 with Pro Tools 12.6. Using the MACKIE HUI protocol I am connecting with the session. All functionality expect no Metering Lights. I previously had a older Mackie HUI controller, same issue. I was hoping by upgrading the hardware would fix the issue, but it did not.

In addition, I have tested with Logic X, Ableton, and Cubase. The metering lights fire up just fine and everything works. I don't think this is a hardware issue. I might burn a call to support, but if anyone knows can you shed some light. Thanks in advance.

First off thanks for the reply. I find it funny that under peripherals when you setup a new Midi Controller you can select:

none
Command8
HUI
SurroundPanner
M-Audio Keyboard

Why even have it as a choice if it is not officially supported? Legacy wtf

It works for everything else, but I might switch back to Cubase come Jan 30 when my licenses expire. I love Pro tools, but I need my bouncy lights!

Well thanks. I have been doing more research on the subject. Looks as though networked based controllers are the way things are headed with Eucon. I can still use the iPad via Wi-Fi.

Using HUI protocol to run a Presonus FaderPort, and it works just fine. PT 12.4 HD/Win 10. No problems at all.

HUI is working fine in 12.6. Do be aware that if you use PT Control or a similar Eucon controller, it does stop the meters on a HUI device from working. It does not appear to affect anything else.

Funny you mention that. I uninstalled it and am going to test. I thought I had read that somewhere else as well. We'll soon find out.

You are a genius. EUCON is great, but it does disable the meter light on the DAW controller. So for anyone else, I have just tested and EUCON is the reason the meters stopped working.Thank you for your help.

I'm glad to hear the reason wasn't HUI :) I stand corrected...
