Re: Cant change disk Cache settings Pt10 CpTK
my guess is that it is because your OS is 32bit.

Re: Cant change disk Cache settings Pt10 CpTK
I thought that this was the issue as well but I was told that protools 10 is able to access it even if it isn't 64bit. I'm hoping that someone from Avid can bring clarity to this issue. I'm sure that they know. Hopefully they'll help. I have a friend that has 10 on a mac and they're not running 64 bit and they can access the ram..Thanks for your help in advance.

Re: Cant change disk Cache settings Pt10 CpTK
But you have to remember that your windows is 32bit ... so it can't use all the ram that you can have installed..its limited the usage ... i think .

Re: Cant change disk Cache settings Pt10 CpTK
First question would be: Why in heaven do you have a quad-core machine with 16 GB in RAM, and NOT have Windows 7 x64 on it? You're tremendously trimming your machine's power with a 32 bit OS, not only for ProTools but for anything running on it (and, for the sum of everything running in the background).

Re: Cant change disk Cache settings Pt10 CpTK
You absolutely need a 64bit OS.
