Default PT9 RTAS Performance

Those of you who upgraded from PT LE 8 to PT 9, please chime in on the RTAS performance. Has it gotten better? In the past, when using a 3rd party non-Digi plugin, i always had many more instantiations of the AU version vs the RTAS version. Besides ADC, this has been my only other beef with LE and i'm hoping they fixed it!

No changes and improvements to RTAS as mentioned in the Q&A during the event yesterday. Same for MIDI. Sad but true.

well that's a deal breaker then. if i don't get the same kind of performance as Logic, then there is no point.

Yeah...I just bought Logic on Wednesday. I have to say, performance of massive VI sessions in Logic beats the crap out of similar sessions in Pro Tools.

As for the interface, frankly, I see NO advantages to editing midi in Logic over Pro Tools. Pro Tools's midi editor workflows are excellent, if not better then, what Logic has to offer. People's disdain of midi editing in Pro Tools is based off of 3 year old impressions before the overhauls.

Unfortunately, I need better performance of VIs. I also need my VI virtual outputs to not loose their routing spontaneously (see my other rants about this bug. Probably didn't get fixed yet...)

Plus Logic has a nifty little feature that allows one to render stems from audio coming into aux tracks. This will save me, umm, several all nighters on feature projects.

Stay with Logic then

For me it has been much, much worse. On the same machine I used to be able to insert 60+ URS Strip Pro's without breaking a sweat, 3 plus a few amp sims at the highest buffer setting is giving me playback errors. My Mac Pro feels like a laptop.

I'd love to know if anyone else is having this issue. I'll keep poking and prodding and let you guys know if it clears up.
