Default problem-hanging on plug-in\'s

24 Mix Plus
G4 500
PT's 5.1.1
Mac OS 9.04
Waves Gold

Never had this one but it's driving me nuts.

Done a couple of sessions lately where I've max'd the plug-in's - including lots 'o L1's and TC Master.

Yesterday, sessions (not the ones mentioned above - ALL sessions) started spontaneously muting themselves - first a track or two, then entires sessions. Nothing onscreen changed, just loss of audio. I found that closing and then re-opening the session solved the problem for 2 or 3 minutes, but then it would happen again.

What also began happening was that any session that used an L1 or TC mastering plug would hang on that part of the session start-up, to the point of having to re-boot the Mac every time - so opening any sessions with these plug-in's is impossible.

Any ideas???

Thanks!!!

Bones

aren´t you using demo versions? This happens with the free plugins from waves. they mute outs after some minutes... With,m my L1 and TC have never happened that. no automation data muting outs?

Alécio is correct; this muting you describe is Waves going into demo mode.

Not demo versions - everything is bought and paid for. Also no automation issues.

I'm beginning to think there might be a USB communication problem between the monitor USB hub (where the dongle resides) and the Mac.

Thanks for your suggestions!
