ADATs in Toronto

Hello all

A client has asked me to remix a project originally recorded on ADAT. Would anyone in Toronto or the GTA who still has some please post their details here so I can get in touch and get the ball rolling? I would prefer the XTs, as I recall they're backwards compatible to the originals, as well as higher bit rate as well...I'm halfway across the country at the moment, and failed to verify this tidbit with him.

I own 2-black face Adats. When the XT's hit the market,I heard the tapes recorded on the black face Adats sounded different when played back on XT's. To what exstent I don't know and personally don't have any solid info on this. Maybe you should look into this and check out what type of Adats were used for the recording. Just an FYI for ya. I hate being caught with my pants down....lol.....

that wasn't my experience when I worked in a studio that had the XTs.
