i think Studio One does this?
StudioVisio Pro allowed this as well and it was terribly useful. I understand how it could be difficult to implement in PT but it would be amazing.

Yes, a couple of real goodies here. If the detachable tabs are their own window ie without any trace of it at the bottom of the project window, that would be stellar. Midi effects a big deal too. According to Pro Tools Expert:

Quote:
Pro Tools will showcase new MIDI effect plugin support and MIDI signal flow improvements, while the open AAX SDK will allow partners to develop new MIDI effect plugins. Also being demonstrated are the new Avid Note Stack, Velocity Control, and Pitch Control, as well as Audiomodern Riffer 3, Modalics EON-Arp, and Pitch Innovations Groove Shaper MIDI effects plugins.
RX Spectral editor we knew was coming, but will be welcome.

I really hope they have fixed the Hybrid Engine bug, where audio is playing back late after deactivating DSP mode on a track you've just recorded. I've had too many embarrassing moments where the talent is wondering what is happening on playback. Yes, there are workarounds and steps to be taken to avoid it, but in the heat of the moment, e.g. when layering bv's and things move fast, it's easy to forget.

Default Re: Pro Tools NAMM Tech Preview - SSL UC1 to control any third-party VST3 (Mar 24)

Any third-party plug-ins mapped via 360° Link become visible in the SSL 360° Plug-in Mixer (also controllable from SSL's UF1 and UF8 control surfaces) alongside SSL's 4K E, 4K B and CS2 channel strips.

SSL 360° Link will come with a selection of customisable factory maps for popular SSL channel strip plug-ins from the likes of Slate Digital®, Harrison Audio®, Universal Audio®, Waves®, and Brainworx®. While UC1 is optimised for a typical channel strip layout, any plug-in can be quickly mapped using the user-friendly mapping tool.

The SSL 360° Link Plug-in is a free-of-charge download and will be available in AAX Native/AU/VST3/VST formats via the Solid State Logic website in early March.
Third-party ‘hosted’ plug-ins must be in VST3 format.

Anyone at NAMM notice whether the Edit Window tabs for ARA, Clip Effects, etc can be completely hidden/removed from the bottom of the Edit Window ?
