All I'm trying to do here is use the Gain plugin to analyze my piano clip, but as soon as I click the "Analyze" button after selecting the clip, PT crashes. It's a simple clip in in a routine session, PT 2023.12 in a new, hugely powerful Mac Studio environment. I'm not nearly as interested in knowing why Pro Tools won't do this basic thing as much as I am in hearing about any other plugin I could bring onboard that would do what PT apparently can't. I'm particularly looking for one that can analyze a clip without having to play it through. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi,

I saw a similar case on this and got fixed by opening a new session and importing the affected session's data. Can you try importing your session's data to a new session and see if the same occurs?

Just to say...

On my Mac Pro 2019 (so Intel not Silicon), but also with PT2023.12 and Ventura I'm NOT seeing this... No problem at all with using the Gain plugin to analyse.

To the OP... Defaulter V2 by Quiet Art might do what you're after?
