Pitch shift metallic sound problem
Been using P 'n T on a child's voice over on my short film.
It's brilliant! I've slowed her down a touch (she talks like a racehorse!) and upped the pitch a bit to make her sound younger (which is also a good idea since when it's transferred from 25fps PAL video to 24fps cinema there will be a pitch shift back). But theres a very slight phase-ey metallic edge now. Any ideas for a cure? . You can try it out for yourself. There's a 30 day downloadable trial at 'this funky little url' Regards Karel |

Re: Pitch shift metallic sound problem
Try using Varispeed first to raise the pitch (which will also speed up the voice) then slow it down not in the Varispeed mode.
Also maybe try doing it your original way but in increments rather that the full slow down and the full pitch change in one move. I don't know if this will work and it could possibly make it even worse but at least it's something to try. Good luck... |
