Multi Mono vs Multi Channel Plugins...Just curious...
I've just realized that I'm always using MultiChannel plugs on my stereo tracks or stereo input tracks. I know that MultiMono plugs basically allow the user to set different parameters for each side of the stereo...but I never use it...so I was wondering...should there be particular cases where I should rather use MultiMono plugs? Is there an hidden advantage to it I'm missing (appart from the link/unlink parameters one)?...
I told you...just curious...

Re: Multi Mono vs Multi Channel Plugins...Just curious...
Mr T,
I'd surely like to read about that feature too... I'm using multichannel all the time, never tried the mono thing. BTW could you briefly explain that link / unlink thing ? I haven't got into it yet... Oh and off topic : what kind of music are you into ? Aloha

Some plugins only work as multi-mono. Like Signal Generator and McDSP Analogchannel.

When using plugs in MultiMono mode, each side of the stereo plug in can be set differently (different parameters for left and right) which is not the case for most of the MultiChannel plugs. Then you can choose to link (changing parameters to one side will equally affect the other side) or unlink left and right parameters. <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:<HR>"Oh and off topic : what kind of music are you into ? " <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Although I don't consider myself as being into a particular kind of music (I like and play Rock-Funk-little bit of Jazz-Bossa-BigBeat-some classical stuffs-etc...), most of my listeners have said that it sounded a little bit as: Beck, Dag, Arthur H (only for the Frenchies) or Gomez...Go figure...I should pretty soon be able to post some MP3 demos (I already have my own site available with Real Audio streaming demos but find that the sound is wayyy too crappy...). To Ben: so, beside the only MultiMono plugs use, is there any other advantages I haven't thought of ?...Reading your post, I guess not. Thanks for the reply anyway. Anyone else?...

Re: Multi Mono vs Multi Channel Plugins...Just curious...
Multichannel plug-ins are concerned with a stereo/surround field. What occurs on one channel has a direct effect on the processing done on a different channel. There are many situations where this makes sense, such as reverb. There are some situations where this makes no sense such as a signal generator. There are some situations where this should be an option, such as a multiband compressor.

I'm just curious of what kind of music the french people on DUC play. Aloha
