Unable to install Guitar Rig 5 on Pro Tools 12

Hello

I have windows 10 and I'm trying to install the aax version of Guitar Rig 5 in my Pro Tools but the plugin simply doesn't appear inside Pro Tools.

It's x64 so I'm installing it in: C:ProgramFiles/CommonFiles/Avid/Audio/Plugins
which is where all the Pro Tools plugins are anyway.

What am I doing wrong?

Don't choose where to install any plugins, install again and let the installer put it where it wants to. There are a few pro tools folders with plugins for au,vst,component,aax etc so let it do its thing.

I bet it's there, you may not be looking in the correct area. You must remember Guitar Rig 5 is more that just a Guitar Amp plugin, it is a host for other EFFECTS from NI as well...

So instead of looking in the HARMONIC category, look in the EFFECT category from the insert of a Mono or Stereo AUDIO track.

Another option is to enable Category & Manufacturer for your plug-in list, then you can navigate to the 'Native Instruments' entry and find all your NI plug-ins there.

I did all of that and still nothing. By the way, my plugin menu doesn't show an "effects" tab.

How are you installing Guitar Rig 5? Can you download it from your NI account or from Native Access? Use Native Access to update to the latest version and check again.

Trash your preferences in Pro Tools.
