Reduce latency when monitoring audio inputs
Hi , whats the best option for reducing latency on audio ins.
I have an extrernal midi keyboard playing an arranged midi part in my PT10 arrangment. I have the audio from the keyboard monitoring on an audio track but obviously there is latency. I would like the monitor the keyboard through audio whilst working for a while and record at later stage after adding some midi tweaks / CC infomation etc. I have tried to switch on the low latency option but that seems to stop the audio being monitored. Waht else can i try so i can keep it monioring live without too much latency before I record it. Help appreciated

Re: Reduce latency when monitoring audio inputs
Can you lower your HW buffer size to 128 or lower?

Re: Reduce latency when monitoring audio inputs
i can try that but i think it will freak the computer out / get stops whilst playing.
isn't the low latency otpion suppossed to fix this issue?

Re: Reduce latency when monitoring audio inputs
Does not the Mbox 2 Pro have hardware monitoring? I get the good results with a Focusrite Trakmaster Pro by receiving the session main outs into the Pre and then can mix that with the direct in from the keyboard. This works with the actual keyboard audio, but not with a software instrument that is running inside of your session. The MIDI from the keyboard is recorded simultaneously onto a track that will be used for playback of the VI.
The sound you hear while recording is whatever your keyboard is set to output. Once your MIDI track is recorded, you can copy that, or load a virtual instrument. The timing should be accurate. |
