Default One midi keyboard to trigger two sounds or more?

I've a Korg keyboard with midi in/out going into my 001 at the moment. Is there a way of getting the midi to trigger two instruments or plugs on seperate tracks? Or, more specifically here, two instances of the same plug on different tracks but doing slightly diferent things (one up front, and the other with some reverb providing the ambience)?

When I try doing it the korg trigggers one midi track or the other, but not both at the same time.

Just trying things out...

Karel, I just created four Instrument tracks, two I inserted with Reason and two with
Moog Modular V. Enabled Instrument View and routed each channel accordingly.

Instrument Track One Reason NN-19 channel 6 Rewire Mix L / Mix R
Instrument Track Two Reason Subtractor channel 4 Rewire channel 3 and channel 4
Instrument Track Three Moog Modular V 2 1 channel 1
Instrument Tack Four Moog Modular V 2 2 channel 1

Shift clicked record arm, Alt clicked faders

All four Instrument tracks playing different sounds with one Key stroke ...for example.

Is this what you had in mind?

Sounds like it.

But you have PT7 which now has instrument tracks, whilst I've still got 6.4 on my 001 with the old midi tracks. It seems like (unless I've missed a setting somewhere) 6.4 will only route a midi input to one midi channel at a time.

I must be missing something. Maybe I should RTFM.

Anyway, I got my discounted MBox ready to unpack, and I now have a full PT7, so maybe I should install that...

I'm a 6.4 user as well, and well I can't have pro tools in front of me while I say this so this maybe a bloody lie. But still, can't you just create 2 midi tracks and an aux put your instrument on the aux and record arm both midi tracks holding shift and clicking on the rec on both of them?

shift + click...

Of course. I'll power the machine up and try that right now!

(p.s. who else is busy doing their tax return at the last minute right now? )

hehe guessed it was the shift key you forgot. No problem, good to be of any help

P.S. If you read the post above again, that you thought was all about the instrument channels, you can see he also adviced you to use shift :P

Good to hear you got your setup working, Karel. Yeah I forgot 6.4 doesn't have Instrument tracks, but would've mentioned what Palli-Moon suggested, after realizing it or been told that 6.4 does not support that option. Maybe I should've paid more attention to begin with.

...just out of interest, can you have both systems running side by side, on the same DAW?
