Default PT 7... Will I regret it?

I am running 6.9.1 with a Control 24 on OS 10.3.8 right now and things are pretty stable. I am tempted to go up to 7 for some of the new features, but I'm not sure it's wise. I waited until PT6.7 before leaving PT 5 and it was a fine transition. My gut tells me I should wait for 7.1 or 2 before updating...
What's the consensus on stability with PT7/Tiger? Any real horror stories?

Thanks

Nic

I've been happy.

The only horror stories seem to include Control 24 personalities.

Search in the last 2 weeks.

Yeah, I saw that thread and it looked very scary.

How often is your system freezing or unexpectedly quitting?

Nicolasixxx, I just upgraded one of my systems from 6.7 to 7.0 (and at the same time from OSX 10.3.8 to 10.4.2) last week, and so far everything is cool - including my Control24. I'm on a dual 1.8 G5.

Fortunately I have experienced no crashes so far, or any of the C24 problems other people have been experiencing.

Hope I didn't just jinx it.

jeffjuliano, your situation is entirely different because you are using Apogee converters. As stated from the very beginning on the HD 7 compatibility documents, your Apogee system is not compatible with Pro Tools HD 7:

http://www.digidesign.com/compato/osx/hd/
Quote:
Audio Interfaces — Other Manufacturers

Digidesign does not test or verify other manufacturers' audio peripherals with our system. During beta testing of Pro Tools HD 7 software, we received feedback that installing Pro Tools HD 7 software may prevent a non-Digidesign audio interface from working. We therefore suggest that customers contact the manufacturer of their device to check on potential compatibility issues before upgrading to Pro Tools HD 7 software.

For me PT 7 has been pretty stable although last night my control 24 did take on a personality of its own and during s session recording the entire console lit up every lite and button and the PT 7 software said it couldnt find the controller weird powered off and today all seems fime...the upgrade is worth it in my opinion although lots of plugin updates to run ...

just my 2 cents
