882 I/O and IBM PCI card?
I've upgraded my "Studio" machine from a PIII500 to a P4 2.4. The new machine doesn't have ISA slots for my Session8 cards (which I knew when I decided to upgrade). Now I'd like to use my 882 I/O if possible. Is there a PCI card for the 882 in Win XP? I saw an ad for a Pro Tools Project Core System Audio Card, a PCI DSP card that provides SCSI support for 8-tracks of hard disk record/playback, and support for one 8-channel audio input/output interface (either the 888 I/O or 882 I/O). Is that IBM PC compatible?

Re: 882 I/O and IBM PCI card?
PCI Project II work with 882 I/O but don't work with Session software.
solution: use Asus P3B-f motherboard - 2 isa plus pci and agp slots processor P3 750mhz work fine with Session 8 for PC! |

Any d24 or Mix would work with the 882 if I'm right but remember you'll have to upgrade to Pro Tools

Re: 882 I/O and IBM PCI card?
Thanks for the info - I don't mind not using the Session software anymore. Nuendo or Pro Tools will be fine. I already upgraded from an ABIT with 3 ISA (I also have a TB Pinnacle, which was great in it's day, but who's time has come).
All I really want to use is the 8 in/out for my recording and mixing. I haven't used the Session software for years. Phil |

Re: 882 I/O and IBM PCI card?
So, are you telling me that my 882 is a lost cause at this point, unless I upgrade it as well?
Could I use the D24 with ASIO drivers in Nuendo with the 882? |

Re: 882 I/O and IBM PCI card?
Our ASIO driver does support PT|24 hardware, though we do not qualify Nuendo with it. You can find our ASIO info and software here:

Re: 882 I/O and IBM PCI card?
Is it possible to upgrade my session8 ISA cards for a D24? I know it's discontinued, I wouldn't expect support.
Also, what is the upgrade procedure to possibly upgrade my 882 -> 882 20 or 24? |

Our Presales Product Specialists would be the best ones to ask about upgrades...
