Default dead channels in edit window PT 4.2 NuBus TDM/888

Hi there,

I've noticed doing edit mixes of say 14 channels (7 stereo L/R pairs) on occasion, even though the waveforms will show up, one or two channels will be "dead" - that is, no output (no matter what I/O's are selected).

I can move the "dead" channel say up or down the order of channels, and then the output is fine!

And the funny thing is, it's NOT always the same channel (in the sequence from top to bottom, i.e. 1 to 14 say) that appears dead. Right now in one particular edit session there are two "dead" channels - both of them left channels in two stereo pairs.

This occurs with all outputs assigned to 1-2/888 which I've always done when mixing to stereo out prior to bouncing.

If it were a hardware problem, wouldn't I see the same dead channels all the time?

I have two DSP farm cards and they are not maxxed out with plug-ins, all those work just fine.

Any ideas at all?:)

Thanks!
Yves

Couldn't find anything in the Answerbase or older call logs like this, so it's tough to say where to start...

Is there anything unique about the tracks that do this?

Does this happen with just the "core" digi plug-ins?

Does the hardware check out okay in DigiTest?

Have you tried running with 1 DSP Farm at a time?

Turns out it was merely conflicting voice assignments.
