Default Melodyne and third party down loads

Hi,
I have installed pro tools 8 and registered it and have a support number. However I don't want to use it for something that I feel should be sorted before now as it is very expensive to pay for another support code if I need it for something more important.

My problem is using Melodyne and third party downloads. I have installed Melodyne and when I try to run it it asks for a number. I haven't got a number. I have read other threads and there should be a yellow card with a number which I haven't recieved. I purchased M Box 2 and Pro Tools 8 brand new on Ebay. Another thread talked about going to available downloads in My Avid Account. Tried that and there is nothing in there. Are Avid going to take away my expensive support access for asking where this is if I ring them? I shouldn't have to chase this around the world. I have emailed Melodyne who at least have free email access and they have hand balled it back to me to contact Pro Tools.

Another problem arising is that I used my email address to register for the DUC and then when I tried to register for an Avid User account it said that this email is already in use. Oh Der. It's the same person. Avid could you tell me why you have different accounts for every department such as User Account, Video, Duc and can't even use my own email address. I have had to use my work email and have to hope I don't get the sack from my job when your emails turn up at work. Can you please fix this problem or tell me how to without having to pay to call you in America.

Save your support ticket.

Melodyne and other third party plugs you need to pay for, they are not free and not part of Pro Tools. Did the ebay sale include those plugs? - if so you should have got serial numbers or similar via email.

On the avid account thing, can you see your Pro Tools purchase? I think licensing support is free but try to sort out your licenses yourself first.

Mike.

This is not entirely true.

The FULL versions of Melodyne and other third party plugins are not part of pro tools, true. But for quite some time, Avid has been including a copy of Melodyne Essentials, the lite version of Melodyne, with Pro Tools.

If the item you purchased on ebay said it included Melodyne Essentials, then your beef is with the ebay seller, and you should take it up with them.
