dirty volume pot
I'm getting a crackling/popping sound in the left monitor when I move the volume knob quickly and also when I turn in all the way down (usually regardless of how fast I move it). It's just on the left channel, and I suspect a dirty pot is the culprit. Is there any easy way to get in there and clean it, or would it require the kind of surgery that is best left to a certified technician (my unit is out of warranty)?

Re: dirty volume pot
This is the part where people have to guess what hardware you're using?

Re: dirty volume pot
Whatever you're using, get a can of Cramilon D-5, open the unit and give the pot a healthy but not overdone spray, and turn it fully in both directions several times. Your problem should be solved. If not, replace the pot.
