testing accel card
I bought an accel card that isn't working in my set up. Are there any other tests except digitest to verify that the card is in deed faulty?
I don't want to ship it back unless Im sure it's broken. WIth the accel card installed I get error 4 then 9003 when loading Pro tools. Digi test won't even start with the accel. I tried swapping the core card with the accel. same error. I uninstalled accel card and digi test works fine with core card. ANy help is greatly appreciated |

Re: testing accel card
please help. I'm going to use the sandra program to help trouble shoot but it would be great if someone could conferm that the accel card should work fine in a regular pci slot.

Re: testing accel card
Thanks. THe card definitely is in the slot correctly. I tried with the core card in 1 and the accel in 2. Same error. core in 2 accel in 1... same error.
COre by itself... fine. I really need the answer to my question " will a pcix accel card work in a normal pci slot? THat's the only thing I can think of to why the accel card won't work. I'm going to try the sandra report for more info Thanks for reading |

Re: testing accel card
You have to attach the flex cable from port "b" on the core card to port "a" on the accel card.
Good luck |

Re: testing accel card
I tried connecting it properly as of the manual but in that configuration digitest wouldn't ever start.
I tried swapping card possition, same issue. I tried core by itself... Pass. THen I tried the reverse order of connecting the flex cable. THis time digitest runs the tests on the accel card but it fails. In this configuration the core passes. I'm trying to find a local studio that is using Protools 8hd pcix to see if the card works in their system before I return it. |

Re: testing accel card
Not sure about your motherboard. If you are running an unsupported system you are running an unsupported system. You might want to try a pcix expansion chassis. It only connects to the pcix or pic slot which works and connects all the digidesign pci had cards to it. You might have a Iraq conflict or you might have a bad accel card.
