Default Matrix submixes

Hi,

Just preparing a new show and checking which console fits better our needs. Venue it's my choice, but we need some submixes (never had the oportunity to deal with matrixes in deep with Venue) v2.5 can send to matrix whatever I want but limited to 12 channels. If I remember well, the PM5D has 24. ¿Is there a workaround to be able to control more channels in a submix as in PM5D?

best regards,

rgr

Default Re: Matrix submixes

Hi,

There's actually quite a bit of routing flexibility built into the matrix section, even though there are fewer inputs than some other consoles.

The 12 inputs to a matrix can be chosen from any combination of the 27 output buses (auxes, groups, left/center/right) plus eight user-defined input sources (PM5D can only access output buses). In total, there are 8 mono and 8 stereo (aka "PQ") matrix mixes available on D-Show, compared to 8 mono (linkable as up to 4 stereo) on the PM5D. On D-Show, each mix can have its own unique set of 12 inputs, and in the case of stereo matrixes these inputs can even be remote-controlled using PQ controllers. For more complex routing scenarios all matrix routing can be stored and changed with snapshots ("scenes").

One way to see if D-Show fits the application is to program a show using the standalone software, and see if everything can be routed as needed. Feel free to post back here if you hit any stumbling blocks and we'll do our best to find a solution.

Sheldon
