Default PT2023.9 full of bugs

The release PT2023.9 is full of bugs. Please, list here.

I like the PT2023.3. It's much better.

Midi editing locks up the program at 192k. Yeah I know, not a lot of people up there but just saying. Back to constant saving in between midi edits.

Numerous memory error popups at 192k but they do not lock up the program. just annoying.

I run an i9 chip with 40GB of memory so system resources are plenty. Lynx Aurora(n) 16 TB.

No problems with this in 2023.3 or at lower resolutions.

For what it's worth, I've been running it constantly since it's release and I find it to have about the same or less bugs than usual. Not that I haven't seen a couple, but it's been a solid update for me.

Where's The Batman when you need him?
Or in this case, The Fixxer vs. The Bugman.
Just joking. I know you meant the PT 2023.3 version but just had to say that.

Let us know what particular bugs you're experiencing so we can confirm and get them logged.

Indeed, bug PT-263050 is still not fixed, I have to stay on 2019.12 until it's fixed, it's a disgrace.
There's no point paying for an upgrade at this point since I can't use the software version without this bug being fixed.

1. The installation appears to have hung. The status bar is fully green but sits there for at least a minute before it goes onto to copying the files.

2. There is an empty System Tray icon when Avid Link runs at startup. It's not Avid Link so must be some child process. Possibly AvidAppManHelper.exe?

I've noticed that during every PT installation on Windows.
AVID product installers are very slow to both install and uninstall. On my system anyways.
As long as it finishes without any error messages then it's fine. Slow, but fine.

Not sure about the blank tray icon though.

Also, I hope when quoting my comment you didn't mistake me for a moderator or support when I said "so we can confirm and get them logged".
The OP posted that there are a bunch of bugs but didn't give any more info than that.
I was suggesting that the OP let us (members) know some more info so we can confirm on our own systems.
But Thanks for sharing what's going on.

I didn't think that were a moderator but thought I would post here instead of starting a new thread. Maybe we need a bug report thread? Do you have the missing app tray icon? Do you have Avid AppManHelper.exe process in Task Manager when Avid Link is running?

Cool. I figured you were just adding to the thread.

I haven't experienced the blank tray icon with PT or Avid Link.
I recently uninstalled Avid Link so can't say.

Maybe this link can help you:

Before I tinker with my system it would be good to know if anyone else is experiencing the blank tray icon with Avid Link. If so it's likely an Avid issue...
