After looong years im having the false play/stop issue with the addition of virtual intruments ( sounds drops ) complete silence and a big THUD sound after that when the VI sounds comes back and out of tempo ....its really unacceptable ....i cant work ....

And the best part is with the intergrated audio card ( realtek ) and with a fast track ( the cheapest) dont do that thing..

come AVID make an upgrade to the 003 mixer driver .....
i told you before over the phone ITS THE DRIVER ....UPDATE IT !!!!



And after someone tell something ...Ive already called costumer support
and after taking control of my PC for 2 days working on it and making a lot of troubleshooting they didnt found anything wrong with my PC ..BUT they couldnt tell me what was happening ...i TOLD THEM ITS THE DRIVER..they told : no ots not the driver send me the session so we can analize it here ...and guess what ...NEVER return the call ..and worst the closed the case because inactivitiy ....jaja

Have you posted a Sandra report yet? If so, please copy it here, or link to it. Without details, its near impossible to offer any help or advice. What interface(s) are you using? I see the integrated sound mentioned, but no mention of ASIO driver, and Fast Track, which I never got to work correctly, and the 003, which works absolutely fine in every version of Pro Tools, up to and including 10(HD which I am running on a daily basis). Also, exactly what VI plugin is at play here? Some work better than others, and I read lots of issues where NI Kontact is in play.

Im using DIGI003 Mixer ..

And the error is with all VI and without them ..just with the click plugin happens ..

Ive changed the RAM brand about 3 times , the cpu 3 times , the graphics card 3 times too ..and bought the FW card 2 times ..( PCI and PCIe the ones that avid recomend SIIG )

Im thinking of making a mini video with a screen capture ..do you recomend one ??

yeah the current 002/003 driver has issues. When you stop playback there's a gap then the reverb tails, very annoying. Also distortion when stopping and starting quickly. Plays fine with Mbox firewire or usb. Definitely a driver problem. Same hardware works fine with PT7. I think this started back with PT8.
I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a fix.

What is Volume F: being used for? ... because its a WD Caviar Green drive (WD10EARS). Highly toxic to Pro Tools, I hope that is not a session/audio drive. I'd not use use as a sample or boot/system drive either. Open the window, grasp disk firmly and throw...

Given you have a WDC Green Drive here, have you missed anything else? - have all the Windows 7 optimizations been applied and double checked?

BTW what are all the playback engine settings?

This computer is just a dual core Athlon, so with VI work, you should expect some work needed to tune things. What exact VIs are being used? Have you checked all plugins/VIs are up to date?

Check all your drivers, including graphics drivers are up to date. Are you running in legacy firewire driver mode? Does changing that make any difference?

Any problem when no VIs are being used?

Thanks darryl as i say in the post the issue exist with a fresh install and no VI
just with the click plugin this thing happen .

Yeah my windows and drivers are up to date and i check all the optimizaton almost everyday .

And the drive F: is only for the samplers libraries and i have this issue before this drive exist . Anyway im gonna make a test with out it to see.

Some interesting thing is that FW legacy driver make things worst ..and all the VI are up to date .

The issue dont happen only at 1024 buffer size with the 003mixer BUT with any other card
ive test in my case ( onboard realtek and fast track m audio ) i can run at 64 buffer size with NOT issue at all ...i mean at all..just like its supposed to be .

Oh i forgot....ive installed W8 in other HD to test this thing and the issue happens too in that OS .

Ive changed the WD caviar green HD for a seagte HD but the problem still there ... so there nothign to do with it !
