Default 2020.12 crash scanning Ethernet port

There is not way to start Pro tools as every time I try to scan my ethernet ports , it crashes, AIR plugins and instruments missing after installing. What is going on with 2020.12.

Anybody experiencing smae problem?

My System
Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, version 2004, OS: 19041.264
Dual Xeon E5-2630 @2.30 GHz
32 GB RAM

Before 2020.12, all other versions were working fine

Hmmm, working fine here. Some things to consider:
1-any new updates from Windows or plugins?
2-any new software at all(other than PT)
3-any new sound card or interface driver installed?
4-anything connected to the Ethernet port(s)? Try disconnecting or disabling
5-what interface(and did it also work before)?

Hi Dave, my workstation is only for music, nothing installed here but Pro tools, everything started when 2020.12 came out, 2020.11 was working fine, but with 2020.12, my system started to show errors for like access violation, some of the plugins were not working, so I thoguht for a second it was the hard drive that may be because it is 8 years + old it may be crashing, so I configured windows 10 again but this time it was introduced 20H2, and about the same week Avid posted compatibility issues with 20H2. I bought a new SSD hard drive, installed a previous windows version as I described in my previous reply, I decisted from using 2020.12, went back to 2020.11, but now I am not even able to install my Waves or Air music plugins as the system crash, also, everytime I try to click the ethernet port for my C24 controller, the program crash, after a few attemps, the system finally recognises the C24, but supper unstable.

Not sure at this point if it may be now my computer a bit too old for the new pro tools?

Thank you for any support.

Hmm, well, 2.3GHz is on the slow side, but what exactly is the computer? Could you upgrade the cpu's? Do you have any drive images from when things worked well(if you don't, this is going to be a hard lesson)? Things to try:
1-open Device Manager and update drivers for the Ethernet port(and maybe everything else while you're at it, starting with the graphics card)
2-Disable the Ethernet and see if Pro Tools works any better(of course, this will mean the C24 won't work, but troubleshooting can be tricky)

If none of that helps, post a Sandra report on the PC(see the Help Us Help You link near the top of this page)

Hello there, just wanted to do a follow up here and let you guys know that the problem was resolved.

This is what was happening, I had 3 ethernet ports on my computer, so what it fixed the problem was disabling 2 of the ports.

My computer and pro tools are now back workign 100%.

Thx to Avid support.
