Default What\'s the word on -6009s?

Hardware? Extension conflict (my buddies iBook won't instantiate PTs on 9.2.1)?

His case is not hardware. As it's now got to the first run.

My guess on ext culprits?

(BTW- loads! of RAM w/ cache set to 512 and processor cycling turned off. Set started as 9.2.1 base)

It may be those inits. Looking like the Trackman for a while, but no. Also, I'm too old and aching for the *$#@ anymore...but we did trash the prefs and nothing worked. It's definately an extension conflict IMHO.

Update

I searched the DUC (again) and couldn't find anything helpful (but the dang search results allow only one read...!!!! argh) So, if you (new M-Box mange) search & find this!...start with Mac OS base and duplicate. Don't waste time on trashing prefs, just unplug USB cable after error message, try again...set to minimal extensions...and unplug for each extension troubleshooting test.

Good Luck,

rant- I don't know why this was so difficult. Is it an esoteric secret to upgrade to 9.2.2 to get more than ONE deverb? Oh well, switching to 256 colors will just about get that one single plug-in to run on 9.2.1 Maybe the solution is 9.2.2? Pity it's so difficult, seems like a really nice peice of hardware. It must be extremely frustrating to design something like this and then be at the mercy of dang extension conflicts & OS ROM versions?

if you have the Mbox set to your sound manager default in/out, it will give that message, you have to select buit in for both before starting Pro Tools. hope this works.

Yep.

Frustrating and elusive. Thats the 6009 problem in a nutshell for me.

I have the new firmware 2.0
512 cache
256 or RAM
trashed prefs.
disabled Digi control panel
tried all kinds of extension combinations

No luck so far.

But will keep trying.

I nice list of systematic step by step how to fix 6009s in Mbox setups would be very handy Digi.

Is that possible???

Turned out my problem was in the Mbox itself.

Just got it repaired.

Works fine now.

Thanks Sound Devices.
