Default Linking Midi Editor With Edit Window

Hello,

I've been having problems with this and it's really annoying.

When my session starts, it usually links midi editor and edit windows

When I click on 1 track in the edit window, the midi notes of that track at that position show up in the midi editor and the edit button for that track comes on. GIF below.

This function is really useful and sometimes it just goes away. How do I get it back? Please help.
