7.4 sync timing issues with Rewire, Guru, Battery, etc.
Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone can shed light on this -- I can't be the only person having this issue.
I use Reason, Battery, and many similar programs in PTLE on my PowerPC G5. I recently upgraded to 7.4 from 7.3.1. Previously, everything worked flawlessly. Now, When I run Reason as a Rewire plug-in in PT, the timing on the Reason midi stuff sounds like it's very, very drunk. After messing with all the hardware options in PT (I heard this might be a known bug when using two processors, which I am), the only thing I found that helps the problem is to set the hardware buffer to 256 or lower. This seems to fix it, but it's not very practical for me because I get tons of CPU/RTAS errors at that setting. I recently got Guru, and it runs as a plug-in inside the LE host software, and the same thing: when I run it in PT, the midi timing is completely psychotic. When I run Guru as a stand-alone outside of PT, it's perfect. Has anyone else had this problem? Anybody know a good fix for it? Thanks! |
