Default Mojave

am currently using Pro Tools 2019.12 and my Mac OS is Mojave (10.14.6). My Mac is from 2012 so the latest OS I can run is Catalina (10.15.7). I have read conflicting things about Pro Tools and Catalina. I need to be able to import video and WAV and other audio into my sessions. Am I better off just staying on Mojave? If I CAN upgrade my license, what version of Pro Tools would I need for full functionality with Catalina?
Thanks!
Walter

Hello Walter!
If your mac is a Mac Pro 5,1 (2012) you can pretty easily update to /or install/ Monterey so you will get a lot more support for your workstation.

I recommend Martin Lo package.

you can start here:

Thank for your replay. I have a 2012 IMac and I can’t upgrade past Mojave unfortunately.

....and more on your subject, i think it is worth updating to _anything_ up from Mojave. For example if you use two screens with PT, it remembers the location on stuff (forgets every time on Mojave)...So go Catalina at least. I do not know what you read about Catalina that's bad, but i do not expect any problems with your existing license....

Thanks again for your answers. Ok firstly, when I had Catalina installed, I was unable to import video (I’ve also read this was a problem for other users). Regarding installing an OS past Catalina (Monterey), that would be difficult because in order to install Monterey, It has to be a CLEAN install..not an upgrade and I don’t want to have to install all my programs again.

I researched Martin Lo's and Open Core and went with Open Core. It's very self contained and and worked beautifully. Matin Lo's involves some extra steps, but is also very nice.

I am currently running a 2012 Mac Pro 5.1 with Monterey 12.7.2 and Pro Tools 2023.12 with the 2023.3 HD Drivers. I did a lot of changes to get a Metal graphics card, 2 NVMe SSD drives in a switch, but I have a machine that is fast and reliable and will last me a while. The longest I've ever ran any computer.

I did a backup of my boot drive, did a clean install of Monterey and then used Migration Assistant to move everything back. I know a lot of people don't like Migration Assistant, but it worked beautifully for me.

Never used migration assistant. I have my iMac cloned to a bootable external drive via super duper. But back to my original question, if I were to upgrade to Catalina, which version of Pro Tools would I need to upgrade to?

You have a lot of choices. Check out the compatibility chart link.

I would go with 2023.9 if it were me.
