Pro Tools Sketch: 2023.9 takes on Ableton

Sketch, an entirely new feature and workflow that bears more than a passing resemblance to Ableton Live, is coming in 2023.9. This will be in all versions of PT inc Intro, and will also be a free iPad app.

Well this is a bit of a curveball, but any composer/producer centric developments welcome round here. I use Maschine 2 in PT every session to create this non linear workflow.

I hope this will mean as above some midi bugs being squashed to get this to work properly, .6 has been really buggy on the dropped VI's etc but ... thanks for moving PT forward in this area

Reminding of my Korg M1 from 1988. "Patterns" and "Tracks" if I remember correctly, now reincarnated as "Cells" and "Scenes", probably more capable.

1. Get rid of Delay compensation limits and problems
2. Fix Latency problems with midi and VI
3. Optimize the playback and video engine ad nauseum


We do not need any more flashy features until these things are rock solid.

This looks like an interesting new feature. Will likely update perpetual for this version.

Not to be "that guy" but, I always thought the Arranger Track in Cubendo was a really cool feature. Kinda looks like a more integrated approach to achieving what the new Pro Tools Sketch Pad does.

Sketch is very clearly the new gateway drug to get 'em young into the ecosystem. If we're lucky it won't break anything else existing.
