Default imported files doing weird things

Hi,
PT 7.3.1.
HD 4

When I import a stereo wav file into a session, the right side is 3 db hotter than the left.
I am setting up a stereo audio track, and no matter how I get the wav file in, the right side is out of whack.
At first, I thought it was something in my listening chain, but the meter on the stereo track confirms this.
If I import into another daw, all is fine.

Anyone ever seen this?

Thanks.
Happy Easter.
