PT 2020.11 CPU Spikes with eGPU at low buffer
Hi All,
Has anyone seen this issue yet? I get frequent 9093 errors at low buffers (128 and 64) in this new version and I believe I've traced it down to mouse/trackpad pointer motion. It only happens when my eGPU is attached. It's easily reproducible even without a session open. Look at the System Usage window and wiggle the mouse a few times and you should see spikes. If you are playing back audio, it will stop with a 9093. If I use integrated graphics, it does not happen. I'm wondering if anyone else has a similar rig and can comment: Mac mini 2018/2020 i7, 64GB RAM, 2TB SSD, Sonnet eGFX 550 with Sapphire 5600 XT eGPU (4k monitor), PT Ultimate 2020.11 HDX, UAD OCTO PCIe running in a Sonnet Echo Express IIID (TB2->TB3). Each Sonnet box is on a separate TB3 bus. I've tried this already, to no avail: https://avid.secure.force.com/pkb/ar...-Errors-on-Mac. Have a ticket open with Sonnet as well. Update: happens in native or hdx mode and when all but the eGPU are disconnected Would love to hear from anyone using Pro Tools 202.11 with an eGPU! Last edited by nebosphere; 11-14-2020 at 06:49 AM.
