Default Re: Q: about 002R inst. inputs for DI guitar/bass

My favorite way to record DI bass is with an Avalon U5. Great sounding DI. They run in the $500 range but well worth it.

Default Q: about 002R inst. inputs for DI guitar/bass

I'm currently using a 001 with a Presonus DigiTube/BlueMax for DI guitar (which I record both dry and through a Pod). I noticed a significant difference in quality between the 001 and DigiTube inputs.

How are the 002R inst inputs for DI guitar & bass recording? I'm wondering if I can ditch the Presonus path once I upgrade. The one thing I don't like about the Presonus stuff is the noise. Anyone using the 002R for DI recording?

I've heard great things about the U5 and had considered one at some point. Yet the cost was a bit out of my range for what I realistically need. The 001 inputs were actually good enough for bass, but not guitar. That's why I was curious if the 002R inst. inputs were any better for guitar.

Thanks for the recommendation though. I still might consider the Avalon down the line.

I might be in the minority, but I really like the Pod and Bass Pod for my DI.

I might be in the minority, but I like to use an amp and a mic for guitar.
