Default Are G4 733 Quicksilvers digi approved?

PT 5.1.1, 733 Quicksilver G4's with 9.2 Finder quits unexpectedly...Help!

Has anyone had this problem?

System 9.2, 3 brand new 733 G4 quicksilvers out of the box, lots of RAM, Glyph hot-swaps, 5 farm cards, etc, on all 3 systems all exhibit an unstable finder after installing Pro Tools.

An alert box will pop up either right away to after maybe a few minutes at most after clicking around PT screens..
"The finder has unexpectedly quit . please save any changes ....bla bla bla"
lots more bombs than usual, too...

Thanks for any and all help

Dave Kowalski

No it's not approved yet.

I've found it very stable, but I have a smaller, simpler PT system....24Mix, ATTO card, video card (DD said a no-no, but working fine), ProControl, 5.01, 1.125gb ram, 2-50mb LaCie SCSCIs. Used for radio spots and audio post, so not running more than 24 tracks, though. However, it's been stable for me on 9.2.

Not approved yet... only the "1st Gen" 733's.
Are you running in "classic mode" 9.2?
If so, reinitialize your boot up drive with drive setup and install OS 9.2 from the Mac disk. IT should be much better.

the classic mode is shaky

Thanks, this worked fine, and I also found that when using drive setup, check "write zeroes" in the initialization options (edit menu).

This makes sure the disk is truly blank instead of just scratching the file headers..
