Default How do you monitor with the Firewire 1814?

Hi all, i'm weighing up a new interface and i can't help but think for the money that the Mbox Pro really isn't cutting it? I'm interested to know how you direct monitor through the 1814, do you have to do it through software or can it be done from the interface/Pro Tools? My Mbox currently has a mix knob to offset the in against out but i don't see that on the 1814. If anyone could give me a little detailed advice it would be a great help.

Thanks in Advance

Default Re: How do you monitor with the Firewire 1814?

there are several posts in the windows section of PTMP
regarding zero latency monitoring

but the short answer is, there is no PTMP menu action which
gets you zero latency like for the 002, 002r in PTLE.

however you can get zero latency on how you setup the FW1814
software which is separate from the PTMP application.

web page refernce

personally i would stay away from USB interfaces like the mbox.
the mix knob is there because of USB slowness. Routing your recording
audio in m-audio control panel software is not as simple as the one
click option in PTLE for 002/r systems but in my opinion is very logical and reasonable.

hint: search for posts with "low lat"
