I'm running Pro Tools 9 (fresh install) via a Mackie 1640 mixer with an Onyx Firewire Card (updated drivers, which are compatible with Windows 7).

I get clicks and pops during playback, and looking around I've noticed many others do as well.

Can anyone give ideas on what could be causing this with my setup?

Thanks!

Could you please give a little bit of information on the session or sessions you are getting Clicks/Pops on? The only time I have ever gotten any Clicks or Pops is when my Buffer Rate was too Low for the session size. I would go into your Set Up change the Buffer Rate,The Core Number and CPU percent and see what happens?

Yes, but you're not going to like what I have to say.

The particular computer/motherboard you are using has an integrated graphics card. Integrated graphics cards are not supported/compatible for Pro Tools use (KB367753). Some users have gotten around this by disabling the graphics in the BIOS and installing a separate video card, but it has not always solved the problem. It may be that you will not be able to use this computer with/for Pro Tools.

This incompatibility can cause the problems you are experiencing.

While you can sometimes get away with recording to the system drive, the requirements for Pro Tools sessions is a separate physical disk. You need to use a separate physical disk for Pro Tools sessions, especially ones with larger track counts.

This can also cause the problems you are experiencing.

The wireless adapters need to be disabled when you are using Pro Tools.

They too can sometimes cause the problems you are experiencing.

Read spkguitar's post again. I would have pointed out exactly what he did(he's younger and faster than me) See what happens if you up the buffer setting to 1024(but eventually, you will need to address the hardware issues.

I had this same issue. Disabling the network card seems to have done the trick for me. Go into your Device Manager and click disable on your network card.
