New to Protools having trouble already

IM having trouble loading the protools le program on my laptop. When I connect the mbox2 to the laptop via the usb port the laptop restarts. If it does not restart, and I insert the software disk, it says it cannot find the program. Any advice would be appreciated. Please help, I desperately want to get started on my protools experience.

Kind of hard to help you if we don't know what could be causing the problem; you haven't told us anything about your computer.

"my car won't start"... ummm.. what kind of car? See what I mean?

Start with the suggestions in the General Troubleshooting thread, especially the part about compatibility, and also the part at the end about posting your system details.
