Wavedriver not installed with 6.1 nor 6.4

Hello everyone. A newbie to PTLE, but not to pc recording. Just got the Mbox yesterday. geez, the step up to Pro Tools was worth it! But after installing 6.1, everything worked great EXCEPT the Wavedriver. I cannot get Windows Media player to play through the MBOX. I downloaded the free tool and the driver from the website, but windows still doesn't recognize MBOX as an audio device. I tried installing 6.4 update and still no luck. So my question is: who on this forum has been able to make the WaveDriver work properly? How do I resolve this? Thanks for your prompt replies in advance!

Have you gone into Control Panel>Sounds/Audio devices and choosen Digi 1/2 as your default device?And in the Media Player under Tools>Options>Devices>Speakers>Properties chosen Digi 1/2

Yes, I have done the above. However, the only thing that shows is "Direct sound device:SoundMax Digital Audio." The Digi 1/2 does not show up. It's as if Windows doesn't recognize MBOX as a sound device. (However, as I said, inside PTLE everything works great.)

What is confusing to me is all the documentation says that the Wavedriver is installed by default, upon initial installation.

Download and install the WaveDriver 6.1.1 from the downloads link below.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have already downloaded the driver and installed according to instructions. No success. Do I need to uninstall PTLE and reinstall again? Any suggestions are welcome!

Are you installing while logged in as an Admin?

Run MME Helper and tell us which programs are listed in the registry.

Yes, I am installing as admin. Here is the list of allowed apps from MME helper:

wmplayer.exe

Do I need to remove the apps I do not have on this machine? Do I need to add a value to the registry entry? Thanks for all replies!

That all looks right.. if you have another sound card installed or connected.. disable it.

Hi!
I have the exact same problem.
The strange thing is that I made a dual-boot system and all is fine on the "PT-Boot", windows sees the M-box as an audiodevice but when I start the the boot for internet, games etc. windows doesn't seem to recognise it!

The soundcard isn't disabled in any of the two, I will try that today, but since it works on the PT-boot it seems like that's not the problem.

Any thoughts?
I really dont want to format my main boot and start all over since I have a lot of e-mails and stuff that I like to keep but it would be convenient to use the Mbox as soundcard on this boot also.

Any help is appreciated!

You have to be logged in as an administrator for the driver to work.
