Anyone using Dual Processor (both enabled) G4's w. PT & Unity successfully?

Is this working for any of you yet?

I've heard numerous stories of people with dual G4's who've had to disable their second processor to get things working reliably.

I'd love to be able to run PT and Unity or Soft Sample Cell or Reason, etc., simultaneously on on a dual machine. Have one processor dedicated to PT, the other working the software sampler/synth. Should be great. Especially with BitHeadz products and other optimized for G4. These cautionary posts are bringing me down though.

Is anyone doing this successfully?

Yes I am using a dual 450 with PT5.01 and unity DS 2.1.1

I have found that PT 5.1 does not work well with the combination, hence back to 5.01

My problems (as well as others) are with the 2001 (digital audio) Dual G4's and Protools.

So no dice with the 2001 dual G4's and PT 5.1 with Unity in the background eh? Anyone? Any luck?

It seems to work fine for me. I had found that Logic and a stealth port and Unity were unhappy campers. But changing to the USB midi connection seems to have fixed that. I also have the brand new versions of both logic and Unity, 4.7 and 2.1.2.
I have a 2000 model dual 500 mac.

i had to disable mine because of too many Error -6042:"PCI bus too busy" messages. hoping 5.1.1 will address this issue.

BTW i have a 2001 dual 533 G4
