Re: merging le and tdm sessions
We do sessions across TDM and PTLE platforms regularly with no problems.

Re: merging le and tdm sessions
You can Import Tracks in the File menu.

Re: merging le and tdm sessions
Sounds like you might just have a software version mismatch. Check and make sure you're both running the same versions of PT and PTLE. I transfer PTLE and TDM sessions back and forth quite often with no problems.
As Rail Jon Rogut mentioned, if you just need to 'merge' some tracks into an existing session, use the 'import track' feature (available in 5.1 I think) or if you're using an older version, use the track transfer utility available on the PT CD-ROM. |

Re: merging le and tdm sessions
thanx guys but my sesions are small regions of fx and foley that are all seperatley named ! now in order to import my tracks and have them sync to his timline we have been having to consolidate the regions wich wipes out a lot of work on my end. I have never used track transfer (no need till now)so will one of you gents be kind enough to give me a dumb ass run down of how to do this?
remember i want my regions to sync to his timline(i get quicktime movies with a start point) thanks. james |

Re: merging le and tdm sessions
Import Tracks... keeps all your regions in the EDL in the right (relative) position as well as any plug-ins or fades, etc.
Which version of LE and TDM are you working with. You will need to know what the other session start time is -- you want that to be the same in both sessions or there will be an offset -- in that case in the top righ hand corner in the Timecode mapping options change the start time of the imported data.
