96kHz Rosetta & 002?
Am I missing something or is there no way to use a 96K Rosetta as a front end for the 002? I know S/PDIF only works up to 48K. Is there any high quality front end that will work with the 002? Whassup?

It does work, just set the sample-rate to 48kHz.

Re: 96kHz Rosetta & 002?
I thought the "RCA" SPDIF on the 002 could handle up to 96kHz but the lightpipe could not (no ADAT "s/mux" 96k option). Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: 96kHz Rosetta & 002?
According to the review of the 002 in the current Mix, there is no way into the 002 at 96k, only at 48k.

Re: 96kHz Rosetta & 002?
SPDIF, in both Optical and Coaxial, is not capable of 96kHz on any product. That is a limitation to the technology. The same is true for ADAT Optical Lightpipe although bit-splitting can be used on products that support it. This is known as SMUX. The only digital connector that can do 96kHz is AES/EBU. There is a new standard that will be talked about in the near future based around AES for 192kHz, but I forget the exact code-name for it. You absolutely can get 96kHz into the Digi002 via analog, so that statement isn't true.... If you want to go 96kHz digitally into the Digi002/Digi001 then you'll need a version with AES/EBU. Pros don't want to use SMUX if they don't have to as AES has a better sound over ADAT lightpipe, even though it's digital.

Re: 96kHz Rosetta & 002?
Hi, the "Getting Started With The 002" book that comes with the 002 clearly states several times that it DOES allow for sample rates up to 96k through SPDIF. Surely you don't suggest that Digidesign is lying to us?

Re: 96kHz Rosetta & 002?
I'm going to have to look that up because you can NOT do 96kHz over SPDIF.

Re: 96kHz Rosetta & 002?
The ART DPS mic pre also claims to support 96k via SPDIF.
