Default PTHD 7.4cs1 adds D-Control Multi-mode & other changes

Available for download from the Pro Tools CS Updates page:
www.digidesign.com/support/csupdates

And related support sections for Pro Tools 7.4 software and hardware, and Digidesign control surfaces.

Pro Tools HD, LE, and M-Powered 7.4cs1 include fixes for all Digidesign control surfaces on all platforms:

Fixed: Pro Tools quits unexpectedly when moving a plug-in window while closing it from a control surface (Item #99442)
- If a plug-in window was closed from a control surface while the plug-in window was being dragged across the screen, Pro Tools would quit unexpectedly.

Pro Tools HD 7.4cs1 also includes the following:

Fixed: When Transport = Machine and a linear deck is connected, Back and Play does not work (Item #99342)
- Under certain conditions the Back and Play command would not respond when transport was set to Transport = Machine.

D-Control Changes
Pro Tools HD 7.4cs1 also includes controller personality file and firmware updates for D-Control worksurfaces. These personality and firmware updates include the following new or updated features:
  • Changes to the "Auto Write To" Switches
  • Changes to the Soft Keys Section
  • Dual Transport Mode
  • LED Test Mode Color Changes (D-Control ES Only)
  • D-Control Multi-Mode (Mac only)*
*Pro Tools HD 7.4cs1 for Mac OS X adds the ability to enter D-Control Multi-mode, which lets you use a single D-Control console to access up to four Pro Tools|HD systems on a network. Multi-mode lets you quickly switch worksurface control from one Pro Tools system to another by pressing a single switch on the D-Control console. Please note that older consoles may require upgraded components to support Multi-mode. See the D-Control Addendum v7.4-7.4cs1 for more information.

Downloads & Details:For more about the new D-Control features, see the D-Control Addendum v7.4-7.4cs1 avaliable from the Pro Tools HD 7.4cs1 update and HD 7.4 tech docs pages.

Pro Tools LE and M-Powered 7.4cs1 updates are available here:

Will these Auto Write To switch changes be for D Command too?

multi mode is HUGE. what a great thing, digi. Wonderful. (in concept, of course. I won't ungrade to 7.4 until I get through the current wave of work)

At this time, the changes are only for D-Control.

So the buttons on one control surface will be one way, and completely different on another? Seems odd to me.

Is there any word on if Multi-Mode will ever be supported on the D-Command? I use it everyday on the D-Control... and would love to be able to have that feature in the smaller rooms.
