Bounced tracks are at a different speed!
I bet this is posted somewhere already, HOWEVER, I'm short on time and I apologize for any redundancies:
My sessions in PT 9 are at a different bpm than after I bounce them. The change in tempo is pretty drastic and obvious. Does this have to do with the Word Clock too? How can I fix my problem? If someone knows the answer, please give me a shout! Thanks a lot :) |

Re: Bounced tracks are at a different speed!
are you changing the sample rate?
Chris

Re: Bounced tracks are at a different speed!
Perhaps... haha this could by would, yeah. Okay dumb question: I know it varies depending on the project, but what should the sample rate be at normally? 44 khz? thanks
the buffer size has nothing to do with my problem, right? I changed it once to get rid of unwanted pops and clicks, but that's probably an entirely different subject. |

Re: Bounced tracks are at a different speed!
Describe your hardware setup in great detail. It sounds like a clocking issue to me as well. If you bounce at the same sample rate as the session, then speed and pitch should be the same. But an external clock that is set incorrectly can override what you "think" the session is done at.

Re: Bounced tracks are at a different speed!
buffer has nothing to do with the change in pitch/ speed when bouncing. But sample rates being different will change the pitch /speed. most people end up at 48K or 44.1. You probably have different sample rates going on. All must match.
Personally i end up at 44.1 which will play on a CD. Once CDs are extinct i will probably move to 48K though the sound difference i cant hear. Or when 48K becomes the standard. Its more important to have a good bit rate. 24 bit is much better than 16bit or 8 bit. I record at 24 bit 44.1K. I could record at 24 bit 48K. Since all of my stuff ends up as an mp3 on the internet or on a youtube video, i dont really need 48k. my two cents. Chris

Re: Bounced tracks are at a different speed!
I'm running on an 003.
and everything you guys are saying makes a ton of sense. I'm gonna be in the studio tonight and I'll check what's going on in the sample rate department. See if everything lines up. Settings > Hardware > sample rate. Anywhere else I should look? When I'm bouncing, I should check the sample rate in there too, right? Sorry and thanks again |
