Default Destructive punch not available on PT 9 native?

So according to manual I can't punch in and out on the fly with PT native. If that's the case they should rethink that one. Being a new comer it's just odd having some basic functions restricted that are standard in every other Daw.

Quote:
DestructivePunch (Pro Tools HD Only) A destructive
Record mode that maintains a single continuous
audio file per punch track, and lets individual
tracks be punched in, punched out, and
taken out of record enable without interrupting
online recording and playback.

Hi,

Quick punch is not the same as destructive punch mode!! you still have quick punch mode. but not track punch (punching in/out by the track record button itself)

Thank you, too many things at once learning a new Daw. So your saying there is a way to do this? It doesn't seem to be working for me. I just want to be able to punch in and out while it's playing.
