Re: 6086, buffer underflow, hw buffer size and other errors on i7
well it looks like its solved. i moved my uad card to a differant slot and all was ok.
now ive a new problem. i just got the old access violation pop up!! i thought this would be gone with a new system this time digi cant blame it on user hardware. also got this with it Quote:

Re: 6086, buffer underflow, hw buffer size and other errors on i7
I also changed to an i7, which although incredibly powerful, I'm getting my share of errors which digi can't continue blaming on hardware issues because all my hardware is 100% compatible. I think PT8 needs more tweaking before being really workable, especially when errors are not consistent. I'm sorry I didn't help you with this rant, but it's just that I've spent, and keep spending so much money so I don't have to spend 50% of my time tweaking, changing settings, etc instead of recording.
This might help, though: We both have the same graphic card (NVIDIA GeForce 7300 SE) and Disk controller (Giga-Byte JMB36X PCIE-to-SATAII/IDE RAID), which I have asked if it's a problem, but haven't received any response yet. PT needs to be able to work more types of hardware in order for it to be a more serious platform. I know many will prefer this before ADC. |

Re: 6086, buffer underflow, hw buffer size and other errors on i7
this stupid "access violation" is getting to me. im trying to work on a mix for a client and all ive done all day is restart, trash databases and prefs... its really starting to piss me off.
DIGI FOR ONCE HAVE THE DECENCY TO ADMIT THAT ITS NOT THE HARDWARE ive never seen ANY other sequencer **** up so much and as for qualified??? pt8 was running smoother on my old p4 3ghz i hear ye about ADC. simple solution, template. no more ADC worries. |

Re: 6086, buffer underflow, hw buffer size and other errors on i7
The one potential red-flag I'm seeing is the RAID, which Digi says PT will NOT work with.
Try disabling your RAID? Also: If you have an NVidia graphics card, some users have reported that switching to the standard Windows video driver will fix -6xxx (6129, 6031, etc) errors. "PT needs to be able to work more types of hardware in order for it to be a more serious platform. I know many will prefer this before ADC." In a perfect world, yes,it would work with more types of hardware, but the problem, ESPECIALLY with PC's, there's so MANY hardware options out there, they can't possibly test it with every combination. I gotta hand it to you guys doing i7 builds. Not proven territory by any means. |

.. anyway i seem to have fixed the access problems. took out the plugins one by one and after i removed the "sonalksis free-g" fader everything has gone fine for the last hour. and my sonaklsis is version 3.1 which is the latest afaik. just goes to show even well coded up to date plugs can be a problem. |

Here's The official word from Digidesign from the Windows Desktops compatibility page; Quote:
There are those here who have it running very smoothly (and I may be among those ranks here shortly), but anyone not running official qualified can be considered a "beta tester". Also, I see no mention of "Synergy" on that page under turn-key systems either; Quote:
And from the Synergy page, a quote from Paul O'Brien (M-Audio) & Tim Hurrell (Digidesign); Quote:

Re: 6086, buffer underflow, hw buffer size and other errors on i7
As far as I know the i7 has not been tested by Digi or qualified so sounds like Synergy is using the Digi logo with out permission. I could be wrong though. I would get ahold of Synergy and get them to fix it if they have qualified it in house.
