Damn right ! It always feels strange when someone is asking me "how can I use Reason along with Digi's hardware" and I have to answer "Go to Steinberg's website"...

I thought Reason was a Propellerhead Software product. Why Steinberg is mentioned here?

We develop, test, and ship the Digi 001 with Pro Tools LE, which uses DAE rather than ASIO. If another company makes a product that uses ASIO, they would develop and test that.

OK.

Now, where can "we", the users of DAE and ASIO related programs, find the ASIO spec's?

There are 12 Answerbase entries for a search on ASIO, and numerous posts on the DUC. Could you post a more specific question? I'm not sure what you mean by "where are the ASIO specs". We'll be happy to try and help if we have a better idea of what it is that you're asking. If it is about using Reason, that has been covered on the DUC quite a bit already.

If I can maybe interpret the general point of this thread, I'll try to answer that, as has been stated before. We do realize that there are a number of users that would like easier integration of Reason with Pro Tools. My understanding of the issue is fairly basic. To date, Steinberg has not released DirectConnect support in Reason, using the DirectConnect SDK (I don't know if that is something they are working on or plan to do. You would need to ask them). We have not chosen to add a different standard, Rewire, in addition to DirectConnect as the way to integrate with Pro Tools. This is something that we continue to discuss with Steinberg, and hopefully there will be easier integration of the 2 in the future.
