Default Pro Fails at Launch Then Freezes! Solid State HD?

I am working on getting pro tools 9-10.01 to work on my system (See Sandra below). I have a solid State drive that Pro Tools seems to disagree with because it throwing the error message:

"could not complete your request because a program error occurred".

Then pro tools freezes and I have to launch Task Manager and force quit.

I then reinstalled protools 10 on the same drive and got the same message again. This is all after a fresh install of Windows 7 Professional 32bit. I installed the Drivers for my DIGI 002 before at first and then after just in case that would make a difference it didn't.

I just installed ProTools update 10.0.1 on a regular hard drive not a solid state drive, and it is still failing to launch throwing new errors. I guess ProTools doesn't work with Solid State HD's. The new errors are as follows:

Error 1
sy/win32/Sys_FileLocWin32.cpp", line 621

Error 2
could not complete the exit command because assertion in /Sys_FileLocWin32.cpp Line 621

Then pro-tools freezes again. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Mis-matched RAM and integrated graphics are 2 possible strikes against success. A VIA firewire controller might be strike 3 Has this machine EVER run any version of Pro Tools successfully? You also need to run the installer as administrator, and set the program to always Run as Admin, and Disable Desktop Composition.

though I'm 90% a MacUser in my home scenarios, at two of the studios I work at we run pro tools 8, 9 and 10 from Windows professional machines. and in each case you can run them from user mode, power user mode, or admin mode. so that's not really the issue even though avid tells us we should be using PT in admin mode. For sure you have to install from admin mode. but running the software can be done from user mode.

Default Re: Pro Fails at Launch Then Freezes! Solid State HD?

I am running as admin (or with the same permissions) I have run ProTools on this machine with no issues versions 7-9 only after the Solid state drive and ram did I start having issues. Changing the ram config now good call on that issue. I don't know why my GFX card isn't showing up but I have one. Thanks for the input. I will update. Just got through looking over the 24 pages of known issues with 10 might go back to 9.

Ok...

Got rid of the mismatched ram, I now have a separate video card running, not running on the SSD, unplugged the firewire, running as admin, in Disable Desktop Composition same errors....

What do I do? I have recorded on this machine with no problems before for hours. I will buy a regular HD tomorrow. Has anyone had success with a SSD it seems like the best bet for recording because it is so fast and doesn't fragment.

Thanks to all

I work all day every day on an SSD audio drive for ProTools. That is 'not' your issue.. :-(
Wish I could offer something.
